WoL Questions

Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to check out my guidelines & information. My DM's are open for any questions or suggestions, always!

About @WoLQuestions

January 8th, 2022: The humble beginnings of this account's journey!
Believe it or not, this account hasn't been around for very long. It was created out of the joy that comes with learning about everyone's ocs, and being able to engage with individuals over the shared passion of FFXIV lore. WoL Questions have existed for a while, but they're easy to lose on their own if you're not actively following the Original Poster.
With this account, I hope to help raise the engagement between community users with a catch-all account for any WoL question that may appear.March 31st, 2022: I create the community hashtag #wolqotd. The community is growing, and with that growth came so much engagement of those eager to show support of each other's characters. To see an empty hashtag grow to what it's become now has been an incredible experience I'm so very honored to be a part of. Use this hashtag for the community to respond to, and for me to know it's A-OK to retweet your question!I'm only one person running this account, and I do my best to keep up with everyone. And sometimes I miss questions, so I hope you'll forgive me. I'm in the process of finding a good balance so I'm not spamming everyone's feeds, while also making sure the community engages with big and small accounts alike.==Behind the Account ==
I figured y'all should have the option to learn a little bit about the mod if you so choose!
I'm an adult in my late 20's who has been playing FFXIV for a couple years now. A clumsy tank main who can't remember my way around a map and sometimes forgets my tank stance. I'm also a casual player who, one day, would love to learn how to start raiding.I do hope this account has helped even the slightest bit in lorebuilding for your character and got you thinking about things you may not have thought of before. There's plenty of amazing people who contribute every day in collaborative efforts and I'm forever grateful for this community. It means more than you know.

Rules & Guidelines

To keep things running smoothly and making sure there isn't unnecessary discourse in replies of questions, I've a simple set of rules I'd appreciate for everyone to follow.Be kind.
This account is for one use, and one use only: for everyone to engage with each other over their ocs. There really isn't any reason to be disrespectful or rude towards anyone here. If you choose to engage with someone's question or answer, I ask for you to make it a positive engagement.
My questions are for everyone.
Hateful intentions such as racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and any attack toward marginalized persons are unwelcome here. Regardless of your own personal biases or distaste for certain people, everyone is welcome.
Stay out of business that isn't yours.
You may come across people who enjoy a character you do not, or someone who ships their oc with your oc's beloved NPC. This is fine, if it makes you upset, please utilize your mute/block tools. I ask kindly that you do not start fights, if you must, please take it to DMs.
Respect others.
It's okay to find someone's lore a little bizarre, but what isn't okay is to out them, humiliate them, or put the spotlight on them for indulging in lore meant for their self only. Sometimes, the best form of respect is just scrolling.
Tag spoilers.
I know this seems weird for a game that's been out for a decade, but every day we bring in a new wave of sprouts looking to build their lore as they start from A Realm Reborn. You don't need to tag spoilers on your own account, but when using our community hashtag, I ask that you do so for ALL MSQ spoilers out of respect of new adventurers who just began.
Do not use the community hashtag to promote hateful content.
With how engaging the community can be, it becomes an easy target for people to use for hateful biases. Don't do this, my community deserves a safe hashtag they can freely use without worrying about violent or aggressive behavior.

FAQs

Can I use the #wolqotd hashtag?
By all means, please do! Using this hashtag means you may be receiving a large influx of notifications and responses. It also means I will most likely see and retweet your question to my audience. If you're uncomfortable with this, please avoid using the hashtag.
I @'d you but you didn't respond?
I have my overall account notifications turned off, so if you're @'ing me outside of a #wolqotd post, or a DM, I may not see it and for that, I apologize! I tried to keep these turned on for a while, but any messages I received were often quickly buried and became too overwhelming. Apologies!
Will you retweet my question? You didn't retweet my question.
I apologize if I missed any questions. At the moment, I try to retweet only a few at a time so I don't clog everyone's feeds. I do my best to filter out repetitive/hateful/disingenuous questions, as well as ones that feel less about character lore and more "shitpost" styled question. Feel free to DM me if you would like your question retweeted.
Can I translate your posts in another language and post on my own account?
Please do! You may use the community hashtag as well for me to retweet. I'd be happy to see my post QRT'd so I know which question was translated, too~.
Can I make an account inspired by yours?
Absolutely, you don't even need to ask! And if you need assistance in where to begin, I'm always happy to help. All I ask is to do your best in putting effort into your questions that you ask and aren't directly copy/pasting from the community hashtag. Please also understand the #wolqotd hashtag is an established community with our own rules, and I fully recommend finding your own community to be able to apply your own rules to.
Why did you retweet from someone I dislike?
Please just use your blocking tools on accounts you don't wish to engage with. I am not going to know who everyone likes or does not.
You have me blocked, what do I do?
I try not to block people in general, but on the rare occasion I do, it's usually because you were posting hateful content in the community hashtag. If you believe this is a mistake, please reach out via DMs on an alternate account. There've been a few times I've accidentally blocked (and even tweeted at) someone because I mistapped or put my phone in my pocket unlocked and never noticed. I do try my best now to do a daily check of the account to make sure no mistakes were made.
How come you don't have a DNI list?
DNI lists make me uncomfortable in the sense of feeling like I need to be responsible for everyone who follows me or who interacts with me. I also strongly believe they're ineffective, as criminals or bigoted people will do as they please regardless of me asking them not to interact. All I can do on the matter is ignore & block as is necessary. Since this is a community account, none of my existing biases will get in the way of the community unless you're causing harm to real people.
What is your main account?
My main account will remain anonymous. I made this account for the community, not for myself to receive attention for it. I'm completely content with interacting with everyone solely as @WoLQuestions and getting to know everyone this way!
Will you ever post about your WoL?
Maybe one day! I do use a lot of the questions I retweet and post on this account to help build lore for my own characters, but I am uncomfortable with the idea of using this account with such a large following to benefit myself. There are many accounts that use WoL questions for the high engagement rate, and I do not want to take advantage of my audience in such a way, even if no one really views it that way! I appreciate the interest to no end, and hope one day we can perhaps talk on a one on one level about our WoLs. <3
